About advertiser verification

Google requires advertisers complete an identity verification process. This process requires that advertisers provide legal documentation with their name and location. You’ll be shown these ad disclosures on Google services, such as Search and YouTube, and other sites that partner with Google. Learn more about Advertiser verification.

Google's advertising policies

We have policies that help us protect you from bad ads, including fraudulent and abusive content. For sensitive topics like gambling, healthcare, and political content, we have certification programs that confirm advertisers meet the current standards and have the appropriate licenses for their industry. We also restrict what advertisers can show based on local laws and policies in their location and the locations they’re targeting. For a comprehensive list of Google’s ad policies, visit the Google Advertising Policies Center.

Personalized advertising policy

Personalized advertising helps us show you ads that are relevant to you by using data about your interests and browsing activity. We don’t allow ad personalization based on sensitive interest categories.

Political content policy

Google supports responsible political advertising and has different requirements for those kinds of ads based on legal requirements of their location and the locations they target.

Transparency for election ads is one of the ways that Google supports election integrity. You can get more information about advertisers promoting political content in the Political Advertising section of the Google Ads Transparency Center.

Ads transparency

We want to empower users to make informed decisions about the ads and advertisers they are shown through Google. This means providing greater transparency about who our advertisers are, where they are located, and which ads they show. You can use the Ads Transparency Center to search by advertiser name or website name and filter their search results by serving region and date.
