This article explains how to reconstruct your multi-feed template setup using the Template Copy feature.
Reconstructing templates previously in a multi-feed setup
To convert your multi-feed templates into editable single-feed templates, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your Search Ads 360 experience.
- Navigate to a sub-manager account.
- From the page menu, under “Tools & settings” click Shared library.
- Click on the Templates dropdown, and then click Templates.
- In the “Templates” tab, locate your multi-feed template.
- For each feed in the multi-feed template, create a new single-feed template:
- Select the checkbox next to the multi-feed template.
- Click Copy template.
- Select Copy the selected template and all lower-level templates. This ensures you duplicate the entire template structure for each feed.
- Click Continue.
- In the "Destination details" section:
- Choose whether the template will apply to client accounts or plan templates (match the original setup).
- Click Continue editing.
- Edit the template name. Consider having the name reflect the specific feed. For example, "Product Feed A Template".
- Review and adjust any settings if necessary. You can't edit lower-level templates at this stage.
- Click Continue editing.
- Review the summary and click Create copy.
- Repeat step 4 for each feed in the original multi-feed template.
- After creating separate templates for all feeds:
- Verify each new single-feed template is functioning correctly.
- Make any necessary edits to the new templates and their lower-level templates.
- Update any campaign or account settings to use the new single-feed templates instead of the original multi-feed template.
- Address the original multi-feed template:
- Option 1: Convert it to a single-feed template by removing all but one feed and updating its name.
- Option 2: Delete it if you've already created new templates for all feeds. Ensure all campaigns or accounts are updated to use the appropriate new templates.
Keep in mind:
- This process creates separate, independent templates for each feed, requiring individual editing and management.
- For templates using custom formula columns:
- Ensure all referenced columns exist in the newly selected feed.
- Verify that these columns are available in the target sub-manager account.
- Review and update any feed-specific settings or formulas in each new template.
