You can make your notebook public and share a link with anyone with a Google account. Public sharing makes NotebookLM an even more powerful tool for exploration, understanding, and creation.
How to share publicly
- Create a new notebook or open an existing notebook.
- Select the “Share” button in the top-right corner of your notebook.
- Set the access to “Anyone with a link.”
- Copy and share the link to anyone with a Google account to have them view your notebook.
Owners of public notebooks with paid subscriptions can view usage analytics in the analytics tab. Learn more about Usage Analytics.
Important: Public sharing is only enabled for consumer accounts. It's currently disabled for Workspace Enterprise or Education accounts.
Only notebook owners and editors can generate a public share link to a notebook and manage its public access. As an owner or editor, you can turn off public sharing by revoking public access in the sharing panel.
Once a public notebook is deleted or made private, any previously generated public share link will no longer work.
Tip: to confirm if your notebook is public, you will see a globe icon next to the Share button.
How to visit public notebooks
Once you open the URL link, the public notebook will show on your homepage. You can interact with a public notebook by asking it questions or generating content, such as audio overviews, FAQs or briefing documents. You can also view studio artifacts previously generated by owners or editors.
To remove a public notebook from your homepage, select “Remove notebook” from the three dots menu.
How to disable public sharing
- As an owner or editor, open a publicly shared notebook
- Select the “Share” button in the top-right corner of your notebook
- Set Notebook Access back to Restricted.
Once public sharing is disabled, new visitors to previously generated links will no longer be able to access your notebook. Previous visitors will no longer see your notebook available in their shared notebooks page.
