Generate videos with Gemini Apps

You can create short videos in minutes in Gemini Apps. Simply describe what you have in mind and watch your ideas come to life in motion – whether you're creating for fun, sharing with friends, or visualizing a concept.

What you need

To use this feature, you must have Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra. Learn how to upgrade.
For now, this feature isn’t available to users under 18.
This feature isn’t available for users signed in to a work or school Google Account.

Important: When you generate videos with Gemini Apps, remember that you agreed to Google's Terms of Service, including the Prohibited Use Policy. Be sure not to violate others' rights, including copyright or privacy rights. Use your discretion before you rely on, publish, or use content that Gemini Apps generate.

Generate a video

On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
In the text box at the bottom, enter a prompt of the video you want to generate.
Below the text box, click Veo Submit .

Tips:

Videos generated in Gemini Apps are 8 seconds long.
It may take 1–2 minutes for the video to be generated.
- While your video is being generated, you can’t interact with the same chat. You can start a new chat and come back to view your video later.
You can also ask Gemini to generate audio with your video using Veo 3. Learn more about Veo 3 availability.

Download a generated video

To download a video:

Hover over the video frame.
Click Download .

Video generation model availability

Gemini Apps uses several models for video generation, Veo 2 and Veo 3. Veo 3, which includes the ability to generate sound with a video, is expanding to additional users over time.

Video generation limits

Limit notifications. There are limits for how many videos you can create. You’ll get a notification when you’re close to the limit. The notification will tell you how many videos you have left.
Google AI Pro limits. Google AI Pro users who reach their video generation limit can upgrade to Google AI Ultra or wait for their limit to refresh.
Google AI Ultra limits. Users with Google AI Ultra have higher limits and can generate more videos. Learn about Google AI Ultra availability and how to upgrade.

Why Gemini Apps might remove or not generate a video

Gemini Apps may remove videos when our systems detect a possible violation of Google's Terms of Service, including the Prohibited Use Policy.
