View related sources & double-check responses from Gemini Apps

Sometimes Gemini Apps show you sources and related content within and below its response. You can also double-check responses from Gemini Apps.

Sources & related links in Gemini Apps

Gemini Apps may provide links to sources and related content for you to dig deeper. These links may include content that is related to parts of Gemini’s response, including public websites, files you have uploaded, or documents or emails from Google Workspace if you’ve connected to Workspace.

Find sources & related links

When sources are available, you can find the Sources button at the bottom of the response or in-line throughout the response. On the right, a side panel will open with the relevant links.

Why you might not be able to find the Sources button
Not all responses include related links or sources. If you don’t have the Sources button below a response, Gemini Apps didn’t provide any links for that particular response.

How to double-check a response

Important:

  • This feature is available for responses in most languages. It isn’t available for responses generated with apps and skips certain content like code and markdown tables.
Even when Gemini Apps show sources or related content, it can still get things wrong. To help you double-check statements from Gemini Apps, you can use the Google button. It uses Google Search to find content that’s likely similar to or likely different from statements generated by Gemini Apps.

Double-check a response

  1. Under a response, click More  and then Double-check response .
  2. Check the response for highlighted statements. Here’s what the colors mean:
    • Green highlight: Google Search found content that’s likely similar to the statement. A link is provided, but it’s not necessarily what the Gemini app used to generate its response.
    • Orange highlight: Google Search found content that’s likely different from the statement, or it didn’t find relevant content. A link is provided, if available.
    • No highlight: There’s not enough information to evaluate these statements, or they aren’t intended to convey factual information.
  3. Click a highlighted statement to learn more about what Google Search found.
