Fix issues with sync in Chrome

You can turn sync on in Chrome to get your info on all your devices. If sync stops working or pauses, try these fixes.

Resume sync

If you signed out of a Google service like Gmail, Chrome pauses sync and asks to verify it’s you. To turn sync back on, sign in to your Google Account:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select Verify it’s you and then Sign in again.
  3. Sign in to your Google Account.

Keep sync on when you quit or restart Chrome

If sync turns off every time you close Chrome, you can change your settings.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select More More and then Settings.
  3. Select Privacy and security and then Site Settings and then Additional content settings.
  4. Select On-device site data.
  5. Turn on Allow sites to save data on your device.
